I was hoping that this would be a reference material for many different weapons platforms. It is not. A number of popular brands are excluded entirely (e.g., FN), and some popular models of mainstream brands also are not included (e.g., Mossberg 590).When the disassembly process is described, it is done clearly. The pictures and diagrams are useful.Bottom line: do not get this book unless you know whether it contains information regarding the particular weapon(s) you are interested in (i.e., unless you can leaf through it at the bookstore, because the publisher has not enabled the look inside feature for this book).

The descriptions, photos, and diagrams included are very good. A great reference for the dis-assembly of the guns include. The problem is of the guns I own, (more than ten) only one is included and even that is a "similar to". The posts I had read led me to believe that this was an almost essential book for gun owners. I will probably keep it because I am an information phile and as I said what it includes it covers well. I hope this review help anyone considering this book. Don't do as I did. Check it out in detail before you buy.Robert

I've been reading through this book for a while now and I love it. It covers 125 different guns, with plenty of pictures and step-by-step instructions on the disassembly of each. It covers all types of firearms: revolvers, semi-auto pistols, shotguns (semi-auto, pump, and single), rifles (semi-auto and bolt), rimfires, and muzzle loaders. Like most reading material on the subject, its coverage of reassembly is simply "repeat steps in reverse order". But I've become accustom to that already. My only complaint, and reason for the four stars instead of five, is the lack of detail of disassembly on some of the guns. For instance, the AR-15. I tried using this book as reference when disassembling mine, but when it came to needing it (when it came time to taking the barrel off), the section on the AR ended and I was left without any detail as to how to go about it. So be warned, this book is not all-inclusive. Keep it for reference of basics on many firearms, but nothing more.

Extremely helpful for a beginner. Until I was eight years old I grew up around a whole lodge with a trap range, duck tower, rifle and pistol range but then it all got replaced by a golf course and now I am able to get back into it! Again for anyone with experience this would be no more than a refresher but for beginners this is a great place to start.

Only average information. I was hoping for more reviews, and on some firearms not covered in this guide. An index of covered firearms would have been appreciated

I bought this because it looked helpful. After receiving this it seems to have tons of information in it and also the book came in very good condition, no bends or ripped pages.

Gave as a gift to an avid gun collector and he said it was very informative. Good array of models covered in the book. Really hood, detailed diagrams.

Not at all what I was looking for. I was expecting a comprehensive guide to maintenance and cleaning for mainstream pistols, rifles, and shotguns from the top manufacturers. All the popular makes n models, with maybe a few less pedestrian firearms included. Not useful to the layman in search of knowledge.

This was a textbook for my advanced cataloging class. If you're looking at this book, you're probably taking a similar course. It's more of a workbook than textbook as it contains hundreds of practice exercises. A very small number of the exercises are outdated, but this would be the case with any such book that isn't brand new. I had no experience assigning LCC and this book brought me up to a proficient level.

I purchased this book for a library classification course that I"m taking. Beware, some of the answers in the back are not correct - and this leads to some very frustrating evenings...I think more time could be spent on explaining the classification process, most of the book is practical exercise. Overall its okay, if you're up for some serious brain exercise!

For those interested in learning LOC classification and the principles behind it, this is perfect. This is admittedly probably a small group, but those of us in it will appreciate Hardy's book.

I was an avid Stephen King reader in high school, but I haven't really liked some of his later stuff. It seems like he gets really involved and I lose interest. I'm not trying to be insulting, it's just me, and obviously he's doing just fine without my business. But, and that's a big but, I loved this book!!! Apparently short stories from Mr King are perfect for me. I felt like I was reading a book he'd written in the seventies or eighties. Every story, except one, had me riveted to my seat. My kindle died and I just moved closer to the outlet and continued reading. 1408, the main reason I bought this book, was worth it. I'm reading, wondering when anything scary is going to happen, only to realize it's already happening and I'm terrified. Trust me, especially if you loved Stephen King like I did (Salems Lot, Carrie) then this book is for you.

Everything’s Eventual: Stephen KingThis is the first and only book by Stephen King I have ever read, and I read it twice. The first time I wasn’t sure about it. Then, I returned and gave it a more thorough reading. Much better this time. Each story is like a separate little world; and they’re different from each other. Repetitions of plot and characters are avoided, allowing the expanding radius of the author’s craft to reach into new and varied fields of imagination. The brief description that accompanies each story is a great bonus, where the author reveals the kernel around which the story was created.This is for the paperback edition with the white cover and blood red highlights: perfect illustration for these tales I eventually read.

I've been reading Stephen King's novels, compilations, shorts, comic books, etc., since I first read "The Shining." He is, to me, one of the best authors of our time.This group of shorts didn't fail to deliver.I'm only a few years younger than the author but I still scare like the little girl I was when my brother told my best friend and I about the Monkey's Paw. My friend was supposed to be spending the night but instead, she ran home. (Across the street.) She wouldn't come back that night, either.I had to wait til I wasn't home alone before I could read Room 1408. And, even not alone, a few of these got to me. If I were embarrassed, I'd say so.I guess I still enjoy the ratcheting up of my heartbeat when his stories hit the mark.Thanks for another round of fun, SK. : )

As disturbing, scary, funny, moving, and enthralling as always. Just what I needed on my kindle app for times on the bus and subway when I want something to read other than depressing news about republicans attempting to end democracy. I of course had my favorites, 1408 being the most creepy and unnerving, but they all made me wish each trip on public transport could last a little longer. I think I'll invest in the paper copies too, for reading at home on dark, spooky evenings! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good story, and with great intros to each tale by King himself, there's a sense of intimacy, like a fireside telling, that pulls you in close.

I read this book because my own short story collection was listed as comparable to Everything’s Eventual on Kirkus Reviews. I sincerely hope that’s the case as I found King as good as ever here, delivering short narratives as comfortable as an old pair of jeans. The standouts for me were, “1408”, “Riding the Bullet”, “The Road Virus Heads North” and the title story, “Everything’s Eventual”. Truth is, I will go just about anywhere with King and did here, with the exceptions being The Dark Tower piece, “The Little Sisters of Eluria”—I’ve got a problem with cowboy fiction I guess, especially cowboy fantasy fiction. This is a collection of stories that really, for most of them, end rather oddly, leaving one to think about the endings for days at a time. In this collection, I found a new favorite King short story: Riding the Bullet. Creepy as it is, this is probably the most humorous (in a sick way, of course) story of any King has written. Also loved Luckey Quarter, a story that makes perfect sense if one has "been there."

It's one of my absolute favorites. I love his short story collections because I can read them (or listen on audio book) in relatively short increments. The title story is my favorite in here. 1408 is, in my opinion, one of the scariest of all of king' s works. (Actually heard they made it into a movie, will be avoiding that).

2 flippers way up.Pretty much what you've come to expect from King. I love his character development and ability to accurately depict small-town life. This series is a great cross-section of all of the things King is capable of: love, lust, regret, pain, terror.Definitely worth the price. :)

Not as graphically stunning as the Lonely Planet series, but chock full of information nonetheless. I stumbled upon this series after finding out the Lonely Planet Pocket Series didn’t cover San Diego, Denver, or Colorado Springs. I have to say, i really enjoyed the book, found a few amazing beaches in San Diego and some amazing brunch places to go with my mom! It’s well worth it if you are looking to expand your travel book collection....

The single star is for the print quality, not the content. Pages 194-224 are blurry, and the rest of the pages are only passable. I ordered a replacement copy in hopes that I had gotten a dud, but it was also blurry. Content is great. Wish I could get a good copy.

I know a city or county can't be changed so much to write a new book but having almost exactly the same information, even same wording from a 6 years old version is kinda disappointing.

Our family has been to San Diego at least half a dozen times over the years. It's a great town for a family vacation, with a ton of things to do. Part of the reason for our numerous visits was legoland, a mecca for my kids. We enjoyed the museums in Balboa park as well as hte variety of options for dining and entertainment (not available in Hawaii). My kids are older now, in college, one of them not too far away, in Pasadena. I expect we are going to find ourselves in the neighborhood a few more times, at least. There is quite a bit we hhave not done or seen because we were traveling with young children. I picked this up to look at those other options and to familiarize myself with some of hte neighborhoods we did not get to know.I have commented in other reviews that I frequently get 2 books when planning a trip, a comprehensive one for planning, and a slimmer one to carry. Unlike most Fodor's guides, this would fall into the second category. My 4 star rating is by comparison to the other guides we have gotten from Fodors in the recent past, and also from my knowledge of the city. it is a prettty light-weight guide for a city with so much to offer. It has the usual maps and guides, all of what you expect in a Fodors guide,. Where it falls down a bit for me is in the descriptions, whjich are not very well fleshed out. For example. one of our favorite restaurants is mentioned, but they do not tell you that it is the restaurant for the culinary school, and so a fabulous bargain. It is something I might not have given a second thought from reading this guide, whereas from p;rior experience, it is a destination for us, a city highlight. I also found the hotel recommendations somewhat mundane, sticking primarily to the major chains. There is so much diversity in this city! A lot is missed (including 2 hotels which I would describe as gems).O know that in a city with so much going on it is not going to be possible to cover everything. This guide hits the highlights and a bit more. It is nowhere near as comprehensive as their Alaska guide. I think it is useful, but would treat it as na auxilliary, or tour guide. It's packable and portable and that is a plus. It gives you the highlights and some solid choices for lodging and dining, and does help orient you to the city, I would have liked it better if there was a bit more depth.

This is a good travel guide to San Diego with insightful information to get you started. I have been to San Diego a few times and this book hits most of the high marks as far as I can tell. I ordered this book mainly to see what else the city has to offer that I haven't been to or done already. Surprisingly, it covers a lot more than I thought and they look interesting enough that I would like to explore next time I go there.The book divides San Diego geographically into six neighborhoods or areas and covers them individually so that you can quickly find the relevant information as such facts, maps, top attractions, etc. This is handy since you can easily focus on the area you're visiting. The book also spends a great deal on where to eat, where to stay, nightlife, performing arts, beaches, sports & outdoors and shopping. If you're interested in the local culture, food, lifestyle, you'll find a lot of helpful information in it as well.The design and layout of the book is clean and easy to read, which is nice if you are going to reference it a lot on the go. There are pictures and maps throughout the book. Although the maps are small and localized, they are reasonably detailed and useful for orientation. There is a large, pullout map at the end of the book that gives you better details on the city as well as the MTS Trolley system.The book is slim and compact enough to carry with you on the go. While it covers a lot of interesting places to go or things to do, their description tends to be brief due to the size of the book. I would recommend getting a more detailed travel guide that you can use to plan your trip, and use this guide as a portable companion to carry with you on the go.Last but not least, the book has a chapter on the North County and around. It has some good planner for the northern coast from Del Mar to Oceanside as well as northern inland areas. They have their top highlights, where to eat and stay, shopping, etc.All in all, this is a good travel guide that has something for everyone. That said, I would recommend getting a more detailed guide to go with it for planning purposes.

I thought it to be pretty much generalized.

It's ok if you have no idea what a penny stock is, but it is generally stuff you can find easily online.

I could finish the book in an hour and still get good content about the subject. Great book to staRt for beginners.

There is not much to learn in this book.You will need more information about trading before you jump in.

The book has very little to it. It's basically a description of strategies used for investing, with no real depth into each strategy. VERY disappointing.

This book is pretty good.It gave me more information about penny stock and some basic technique trading.Thank you Tim.Smart guy
