The content is fine but I really wish that any of the other reviewers of the kindle version would've mentioned that the kindle version is unusable as a workbook. It's poorly formatted, the handout pages are chopped up over several disorganized pages and none of it can be printed out for students. Completely useless to me in it's current form. If you're planning on using it with students, which is it's only purpose really there's no new information here for adults, you're better off spending more for the print version. I also wish publishers would stop churning out useless kindle versions of books that contain charts, graphics, workbook pages, and handouts that are improperly formatted. This is by far not the first time this has happened to me but I really thought I could rely on other reviewers to let me know it was an issue.
I like this book because my students are able to think about what they want to say and do this as an extra activity on their own. When they complete an activity I can see where they are and what they are thinking.
Broken down onto small steps...makes learning easier for my daughter.
Great jumping off tool to at least establish a baseline.
I love this workbook as it has simple 6 minute activity worksheets with visuals to teach conversational skills step-by-step. Janine breaks it down into discovering shared interests, deciding what to talk about, showing I'm listening, asking follow-up questions, adding a follow-up comment, and practicing taking turns in conversation. She encourages you not to move forward to the next activity until your student has mastered the step you are working on and she gives you extra activity ideas to help practice the skills more when needed. I can't wait to try these out with my students this school year!
