not only is this book full of directions & patterns from the Civil War Era, it is also a history book. I love handwork & this era of our history, so making the items you learn the colors used, the garment or item this work is for & a little history of why these were used & created. If you are a Civil War buff, one that is into reenactments or someone like me that loves handwork, this book is a must have for your library! however, the patterns are not actual size, but with the help of a printer, you can print the patterns in the size needed. the actual book is 6" wide & 7.5" tall so it fits perfectly in a project bag for handy reference.
I have a lot my great Aunt June's patterns and hooks and threads. Maybe I can duplicate some of her beautiful work!!
